Introduction & Background
Mejse is my 12 year old dog, who has always been the best and most loyal friend in my life. Her father was a golden retriever, whereas her mother was a mix between labrador and irish setter.
Last year we discovered some knots that had developed under her skin, so we took her to the veterinary and she was diagnosed with cancer. It appears that the knots have formed in her stomach wall, right thigh and upper chest. Despite her medical condition and age, she appears to be very happy and content with life.
Unfortunately, I will have to move on the 1st of May due to familial issues, which will put me in an extremely tight economical situation. The implications of this, will be that I'll have a very hard time making enough money to cover the monthly bills and still be able to feed the both of us.
A 5 kilogram bag of dried dog food will last approximately 1 month and costs ~100 DKK, which is equivalent to 15 USD, 13,5 EUR and 10,7 GBP. Now, this is obviously not terribly expensive, but it is enough to break the budget, considering the fact that I'm currently waiting on starting my studies to become a school teacher. Luckily, the state has educational fundings, but I will only receive a modest 5000 DKK a month, which will only be able to cover the rent, bills and food for myself.
My stepfather is unwilling of supporting my dog financially in any way, as long as she lives with me. Considering the bond between my dog and I, it would be completely out of the question to let her stay with my stepfather for the remaining time she has on Earth. I am of the conviction that she deserves to be treated as kindly as possible, which I am certain will not happen unless she is under my own personal care. This is the reason I'm trying to raise 1200 DKK for my dog, which will be able to cover 1 year's supply of regular dog food.
All the support we can receive will be greatly appreciated, as even the tiniest amount of money will help to cover the monetary expenses that are required to keep us together.
