Meghan’s cancer fund

I am starting this GoFundMe page on behalf of my niece Meghan Higgins who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer.

On July 2nd,2017 Meghan’s now fiancé TJ proposed to her and within two weeks Meghan was diagnosed with Stage 1 breast cancer. This is not what a young couple should have to endure when starting a new life together.Since receiving the news, Meghan has received an overwhelming amount of love and support from everyone in her life, but what I am trying to facilitate, is a little financial support.

Meghan was diagnosed with triple negative stage 1 breast cancer on July 11th, 2017. It is an aggressive type of cancer that needs to be addressed quickly. On July 27th Meghan will begin receiving chemotherapy once every two weeks for sixteen weeks at Middle Tennessee Medical Center. The plan is shrink the size of the tumor as much as possible, to prepare her for a double mastectomy this fall.Since then, Meghan has taken every day as it’s been handed to her with open-mind and great strength.

Despite the exhaustion and emotional drain associated with cancer and its treatment, Meghan still plans on teaching and make every effort to spend quality time with her fiancé, family and friends.

As many of you can imagine, this diagnosis and treatment brings immense medical costs. Meghan and TJ would like to start a family of their own, but in order to do so Meghan will have to harvest and freeze her eggs as embryos. This is a costly procedure that insurance does not cover, and for that reason, I am asking for your help.

Please, if you're able to spare some dollars to assist in Meghan’s battle with this horrible disease, I would greatly appreciate it.
