Megan Moriarty New Zealand Rugby

Megan has been playing rugby since she was 8 years old with St Austell RFU. She played alongside the boys until the end of the season in May 2015.It has helped her with her grief since her Dad died suddenly of cancer in March 2014. In July 2015 she broke her leg & ankle in a playground accident which put her out for a whole year. Since then she has had 4 major operations and still has 1 left to go which will hopefully allow her to regain full movement. This has not in anyway put her off playing rugby it has made her more determined even though at times it has been difficult and painful. This season she got picked to represent Cornwall in the County games which has been such an amazing achievement, even captaining the team, especially as she felt that she wasn't fit enough.

Here in Cornwall there are only a few teams and we struggle to get regular games so when I saw the New Zealand training camps it was an opportunity to improve her skill and ability. I contacted them and after an interview and lots of emails Megan has been accepted to train with them for a month at an elite level.

This is an opportunity of a life time and we hope that this will help her achieve her dream to one day play for England.
