School Teacher Seeks Life Changing Surgery

I am Anais Gimeno, a teacher from the Philippines with a Master's Degree in Education. I am currently suffering from inborn urinary incontinence and am in dire need of bladder augmentation surgery. Growing up with this illness has not been easy for me, as I have faced bullying and struggled with my job as a substitute teacher in a mountainous area of my country.

I was born with a stage 4 left kidney and a stage 1 right kidney. At a young age, I was rushed to the National Kidney Institute in the Philippines, where a hole was made under my navel to alleviate my condition. Although my kidneys have since stabilized, I still suffer from inborn urinary incontinence and must wear a modified garter with plastic or diapers to hold my urine.

Despite my struggles, I am determined to live a normal life and continue teaching. That is why I am currently raising funds through a GoGetFunding campaign to pay for my bladder augmentation surgery, set to take place on April 20, 2023.

The procedure is costly and not covered by insurance, which is why I and my family are reaching out to the community for support. We hope to raise enough funds to cover the cost of the surgery, as well as any post-operative expenses and rehabilitation costs.
