Medical treatment for Jelica Sibinac

Jelica Šibinac is a 43 year old woman from Serbia. She is diagnozed with diabetes type 1, for almost 20 years. In the last few years, diabetes has progressed to gangrene that already caused amputations of both tumbs on her feet. Progress has evolved further to her feet, and best available therapy is treatment with Heberprot P injections. The treatment should be performed in hospital environment in Cuba to prevent further expansion, that might end up with partial or complete amputation. Medical studies are showing high success rate of the treatment that would reduce the posibility of amputation for over 70%, but the starting time of the healing is very important. Additionaly, Jelica’s husband past away 5 years ago, so she is now a single mother, and she is not able to finance this kind of therapy on her own.
