Medical Treatment for Christine Buenaflor

We are doing this campaign in support to a friend Christine "Chris" Buenaflor.

Chris and her family are dear friends and part of our Bible study group at Church (Word International Ministries). She is a working mother and a Permanent Resident in Singapore.

In May 2017, Chris was diagnosed with Plasma Cell Neoplasm (Cancer of the plasma cells).

From series of scan and tests, the doctors also found that Chris have bone lesions on her jaw, shoulders and spine. Unknown to Chris, this was what's causing her body pains that she have been suffering for months before her diagnosis. Doctors recommended her to urgently do surgery for bone and joint replacement on her right arm to address her thinning bones which were on a high risk of getting fractured.

After getting bone marrow samples together with her surgery, it was confirmed that she have cancer of the plasma cells. She is now undergoing Chemo Therapy (4 session of 4 cycles or a total of 16 sessions) and after her Chemo, she will need to undergo bone marrow transplant.

The doctors estimated that the total cost of her treatment and bone marrow transplant at ~ S$70,000. Even after subsidies from the government and work, there will still be a huge gap to meet this amount. Chris have a personal insurance, but the claim did not go through, citing a pre-existing concern as an issue.

We are putting up this campaign to seek the support of family, friends and even strangers with compassionate hearts to help fund Chris' Medical Treatment.
