Hello there, my name is Sara.
I will be turning 22 this year.
I am currently undergoing dental treatment at a local hospital.
The dental fees in Singapore are very expensive,
even more so if I visit dental clinics.
Therefore, I chose to go under a public hospital instead,
even though the appointment system takes quite long, I know it will definitely be more cost friendly.
I have already spent quite a lot on my dental work so far,
but still have several more work to do,
including extraction under General Anesthesia, Root Canals, Crowning etc.
I know that the cost of these procedures will be an issue for me and my family,
But my dentist said these procedures are mandatory and cannot be delayed further.
The only regret I have is not to seek treatment sooner,
as I had dental phobia since young and went through a very hard time.
My dental problem has also made me feel very insecure and I kept to myself most of the time,
as I did not want anyone to laugh at me, or see my unsightly teeth.
But the cost was always the problem. I didn't want to burden my parents.
As they had their own medical costs to pay off.
Therefore, when I heard about this campaign,
I knew that I had to put my situation out there.
I am very grateful, Thank you for hearing me out.
