Medical Support for Elka

Elka has been on hypertensive and insulin meds since 2006.

January of this year, she started to have difficulty in breathing. She was rushed to the nearest hospital but was referred to a doctor from another hospital. Upon arrival at the Emergency Room, her Creatinine level is at 20 (normal 0.6-1.1mg/dL) and with BUN 200+ (which is too high from the normal 7-20mg/dL). With this, her kidneys had completely shut down.

She's had her HD (Haemodialysis is the most common method used to treat end-stage renal disease) in the last 2 days and need consecutive HD in the next days. With this we are hoping she'd be okay. However, based on her medical history and laboratory tests, she might need long term dialysis, 2-3 times a week.

With the ongoing pandemic, it will be financially difficult for the family to raise the amount needed on a weekly basis and this is why, us, her batchmates, would like to seek support from generous people like you. She's still in her early 30s and there's so much more she can do. We've seen how she is as a person, she's been outgoing and entirely remarkable as a friend, and she's definitely someone worth your help.
