Medical studies & meals

I work very hard to contribute to the system and to give back to the community - this is why I was very happy, blessed and thankful when I was admitted to medical school the past year - but sometimes all of this is not so easy when it's done alone. The difficulties I face today are paying my rent, paying for my own meals and supporting a dear friend of mine, who lost his job in the past year and whom I send money for groceries. I also would really like to help him smile again, as he has two missing teeth but visits at the dental surgeon are expensive as well.

Additionally, I am separated from my family by 1000 kilometers and travelling home is expensive these days. :( I would be so grateful if I could visit my family at home for Easter, Christmas or any other family occasion. :)

And why am I in this misery: Because some years ago I didn't want to live anymore, I didn't see sense in anything and I let my life slip away. Now I really want to turn my life around and even though I know I can't make up for missed opportunities in the past,I now try to be the best "me" I can possibly be every day.

I don't have any experiences at all when it comes to fundraising and I don't know if anyone can relate to my story, but I thought that at least I could give it a try.
