Medical Outreach & Childcare Volunteering in Ghana

Hello!

My name is Kavita and I'm a scientist with a background in infectious diseases. In July I will be volunteering with the International Volunteer HQ organisation (IVHQ) in Ghana.

In the first week, I will be helping small rural communities in Ghana which are deprived of access to basic healthcare and medicine (medical outreach). In these communities, I will be providing hygiene, infection and prevention education, sexual health education, and administering malaria tests.

Rural communities in Ghana also struggle to have access to childcare facilities. I will be helping with preparing and distributing meals to ensure children receive adequate nutrition each day. I will also have the opportunity to assist the teachers and help teach English and introduce these children to a variety of different activities, including sports and music.

I need your help to raise funds for the volunteering program, and the local organisations and schools in the area. Health care and education is a luxury in many developing countries. However, for the Ghanaian families living in rural areas, this is not the case. Please help me to help provide a better education, medical care and attention to these families by donating whatever you can.

All the funds raised will go towards the volunteering program, the local organisation in Ghana to provide basic first aid supplies, malaria testing kits, malaria medication and to the local schools. Your donations will also go towards purchasing vital classroom supplies for these schools.
