A Fundraiser For Ling

Ling, or Ricarte F. Almazan, is our Father. We call him that, short for darling.

Ling was a very strong, lively, healthy man until he complained of not being able to get enough sleep because he needs to get up a number of time during the night to go to the toilet. He also said he started losing appetite and then eventually losing weight. We took him to see the doctor and was given vitamins and iron because his hemoglobin was at a very low level. We went back to the doctor after a couple of weeks because the problem wasn’t solved. Doc suggested more tests. After several laboratory tests, Ling was diagnosed to have Adenocarcinoma (Prostate, with Gleason Score of 10(5+5) Orchiectomy was done. The doctor suggested a scan to know which organs have been affected and advised injection every month to slow down the spread of cancer. Aside from that costly monthly injection, he is also advised to take daily medications to control and ease the pain that he might feel because of his illness. By this time, stress is growing while our savings is depleting. But we can’t give up. We may not be able to find cure but at least we can make his life more manageable and livable for him. We love him so much and we can't bear to see him suffering.
