My Story

My name is Harris, I am a 41 years old father of 3 children (two boys, one girl). In January 2009, when I was 30 years old, I fell down from the 1st floor at a construction site and I broke my spine. I immediately became paralyzed from the waist down and I lost sensation and motor function below the injury site. Which means that I can't move my legs, I can't urinate and I can't have bowel movements.

The Harsh Reality, the Wheelchair Life!

After the accident, doctors told me that I will never walk again. I had to accept the reality and move on with my life. I was admitted to a rehabilitation hospital in Germany for 7 months, where I learned how to live the rest of my life in a wheelchair! I learned how to empty my bladder and how to manage my bowel movements by the use of special, but expensive medical tools.

What is the money for?

I will use the money to buy Urinary Catheters. I can't urinate by myself. Instead, I insert a long thin tube into my urethra all the way in to my bladder 8 times every day. This tube is called a catheter. To avoid dangerous bladder infections, I use single-use catheters. I need 8 catheters per day (2880 catheters per year).

Unfortunately, I don't have medical insurance and this type of catheters (single-use) are not available in the hospitals for free. Therefore, I have to buy them myself, but I can't afford them.

Please donate generously to help me buy urinary catheters. I need them for lifetime.

The joy in life is in giving. The more you give, the more you will get.
