Medical help for Barney affected by FIP

Barney is a 10 months male cat, part of Cojocaru Liviu and Lazarica Oana family, affected by FIP!

What is FIP?

Feline infectious peritonitis (FIP) is a viral disease of cats caused by certain strains of a virus called the feline coronavirus.

Our little adorable soul has the effusive one.

The hallmark clinical sign of effusive FIP is the accumulation of fluid within the abdomen or chest, which can cause breathing difficulties. Other symptoms include lack of appetite, fever, weight loss, jaundice, and diarrhoea.

The costs for his treatment are very high based on an Experimental Cure called GS-441524, is 1814$:

-1.2 ml per day 21.6$

This cure has to be administrated for 84 days, we got as a donation only a sample for the first 5 days(102$) apart from all the medical expenses we already supported, approx 450$ (1800RON), after all the fluid being removed from his lungs( approx. 250 ml of fluid constraining his thorax) seems to have normal breathing.

If the treatment will be stopped the fluid will start to fill again his thorax causing him a stroke and heart attack.
