This is a tough time for me and my family to see our father in this condition (attached photo). It all started on 28-April-2017 after my father went on an 8 hour long drive (though he’s a passenger).

He started to feel weak and can’t even reach the toilet for his needs. He also started to have an intermittent fever and pain on his right lower leg due to presence of his wound. My father was first diagnosed with Diabetes few years back but we did not expect the fast prognosis of it. We were advised by the attending physician in Dr. James Gordon hospital to send him for debridement of his wound as the number of WBC started to increase along with his BP and blood sugar that it even went above 450. We were told that it is better if my father will be sent to a hospital closer to our family to be attended immediately by other relatives.

30-April-2017

Our father was moved to Bethany Hospital, San Fernando City La Union with a hope that he will be released after 1week after his successful debridement.

01-May-2017

Successful debridement done. Papa started to have epigastric pain on 02- May-2017 after his debridement and started to pass out blood from feces and sometimes even vomits it. He was rushed in ICU for close monitoring and it makes him feel weaker as he was advised not to eat anything except strict liquid diet. By then every single day becomes a challenge where doctors asked us to buy blood pack O+ for his blood transfusion. He was again under close monitoring due to Low Hemoglobin Count, High WBC, Uncontrollable Blood Sugar, Unstable BP. Every time that the doctors ask my sister for papa’s medicine, my sister needs to secure 22 thousand pesos just for a set of papa’s medication.

09-May-2017
After several laboratory test and endoscopy, my father was diagnosed with Diabetes Mellitus 2 – uncontrolled, Diabetes – Non Healing wound, and Massive Gastrointestinal Bleeding Secondary to Gastric and Duodenal Ulcer. It’ never been easy to accept what we received from doctors but we choose to start memories with our father. Our hospital bills are like the Papa’s diagnosis; its UNCONTROLLABLE.

These scenario continues until 15-May-2017, our make or break day for Papa. Despite of the many warnings we received from his doctors, Papa said he can make it. He said his heart is strong and he is not afraid to undergo such major surgery.

16-May-2017
Every single hour, minute and seconds are like nerve rocking moments especially when we hear our phone beeps. Tough sleepless night while waiting for the successful report of surgery. It took more than 4hours unexpectedly that makes the momentum heavier for us.

Right now, we are happy that our father is having a good recovery however; we are left behind with a high hospital bill where we don’t know where to get it. Right now, our hospital bill have reached PHP 442,156.83 excluding Surgery Fee, 6 attending physician /Doctors Fee. We were also told to prepare a certain amount of money for his maintenance in Diabetes, antibiotics for his wounds, and other medication related to his surgery and medical condition.

Creating this gogetfunding account gives us hope to raise the fund and release our father in the Hospital. We thank you all in advance for all the help and may our Good Lord bless you back a million folds according to the richness of His kingdom.
