Fundraising for CHERRYL IGDANES AGARRADO

Cheryl is a loving wife of James Agarrado. They have a 4-year old daughter, Abbie, and she is 3 months pregnant with their second child.

Last January 6, Cheryl complained that she’s having severe headache and fever. Her husband, who is a nurse by profession, gave her a sponge bath just so she will feel better and take a rest. But the fever and headache still continued until the next morning and this time, she was already vomiting. She was rushed to the hospital since they cannot give her oral medicines because of her pregnancy.

They were admitted in the hospital and her temperature was managed under the supervision of her OB but the fever and headache still went on and off. She was referred to another specialist to undergo series of tests but results were negative with malaria, dengue, meningitis, etc., and her blood culture result was also normal.

The Neurologist decided to do Lumbar Puncture to check her Cerebrospinal Fluid. Prior to this, they needed to do CT Scan & found an abnormality in the left side of her brain. They did another CT Scan with contrast to give a final diagnosis on her condition.

The reading of the CT Scan with contrast was released last February 18 and the doctor confirmed that she has ACUTE LEFT TEMPORAL or LEFT INFERO-LATERAL BASAL GANGLIA INFARCT. This is when a part of the brain loses its blood supply for different causes such as high blood pressure, blood clot clogging the arteries which affects some braincells and is now affecting her mental state. As of this writing, she is mentally disoriented and could hardly recognize people even those who are close to her.

She is in a very crucial situation as she is being treated as a non-pregnant patient with little to no regard with the baby inside her tummy.

Cheryl is a nurse by profession but because of the current issues regarding the nurses’ employment in the country, including the very low salary, she decided to shift her career on teaching. She is working as a public school teacher, by which her salary is just good to help meet their monthly family expenses and not enough for her medication/treatment.

Cheryl’s family and friends are seeking for prayers and financial support to help her continue the series of treatment she needs for her full recovery. We continue to pray that with God’s help, she might get back to her normal state and finally go home to her little daughter who has been waiting for her Mama Cheryl.
