Ever since my father was attacked by a massive stroke and a butt-load of infections, finishing a day was a struggle. My mother had to fly to Davao City since that's where my dad had the attack leaving my 12 year old self at home with my little sister. I stayed at my relatives house for 51 days. Yes, I counted my days of misery. Every night, I couldn't stop worrying about my dad. I was scared to lose him. I was a daddy's girl afterall. Before he was sick, I always stuck to his side like a leech on a person's skin. I slept beside him and went with him to car repairs and business meetings. But in just one day, our lives changed. My father almost died in many ways I could not count. A part of his skull was removed and his brain was operated. His frontal and temporal lobes were affected. They placed a tube to suck the excess water in his brain and connected it to his large intestine. He had his brain raided with puss because of an infection brought by the shunt (the tube from the brain to the stomach) so they washed my dad's brain. He had a tube called PEG to his stomach so he woudn't die of hunger (he only was allowed to consume milk). They had to cut off a huge part of his intestines because it was rotting. He pooped at the side of his stomach since he couldn't poop yet. He had his entire right side paralyzed. He had a tracheostomy on his throat (it's a tube through his neck) to suck the phlegm out using a thinner tube because he was a smoker. He relearned how to breathe, talk, swallow, think, and things that we normally could do. He encountered multiple infections such as pneumonia, a dehydration, indigestion, low blood pressure and a lot more. My dad is confined once again but no longer in the province. He is now battling against epilepsy. He had been through so much obstacles and as a daughter, it hurt to see my dad suffer. He is somewhat better than he was before. He could smile again, talk a little bit (though it is slurred at times) breathe, eat, swallow and more. His recovery was however not free. And me and my sister wanted to do out part-saving him. It is a struggle for us. So I ask those who want to help my dad to please donate for my dad's funds. Me and my siste will greatly appreciate your help. Thank you so much and God Bless you all.
