Medical Fundraiser for Christian Allen Baldivia Operation for Neurogenic Bladder with Excision of Lipomeningocele

Christian Allen Baldivia 21 yrs old, was born with a lump on the back of his hip. He was checked and underwent MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) and was diagnosed with Lipomeningocele. As per his doctor, he needs to go for a surgery because there was a possibility that he would be paralyzed. The operation was successful and his capability to walk was not affected.

When he was growing up, it was observed that he has no bladder control. Given this, he had been using adult diaper but as a result he has been experiencing UTI. One day he had stomach pains and his sides hurt. So, we had him checked again. Based on the ultrasound results, the vein that was squeezing his bladder was not functioning well, the doctor advised to use urinary catheter as a temporary solution to drain the bladder. The doctor recommended that surgery is needed on his bladder. The said operation, will help him to urinate properly with the help of the permanent catheter equipment that will be attached below his navel.
