Hirschsprung disease (HSCR) is a birth defect. This disorder is characterized by the absence of particular nerve cells (ganglions) in a segment of the bowel in an infant. The absence of ganglion cells causes the muscles in the bowels to lose their ability to move stool through the intestine (peristalsis).

He had his colostomy operation in his 3rd day of life and is now using a colostomy bag as his way of disposing his stool ever since.

Meron pa po syang 2 major operations, Pullthrough and colostomy closure. Sinabi ng Hospital na aabot sa 300 to 400 thousand pesos ang ka-kailanganin para sa dalawang procedure na gagawin pa po sa kanya. Nakakahiya man po, hindi po namin kaya ang nasabing halaga. Marcus, is strong and happy baby, tinuruan po nya ako maging mas matatag at matapang sa Laban po namin ngayon.
