Medical Expenses for Tatay Gerardo

I am Beverly Linga De Leon, the Sangguniang Kabataan Chairman of Barangay Bulihan, Malvar Batangas and the Champion Secretary of the Rotaract Club of Malvar, District 3820.

I know that we are all still facing this challenging times fighting the unseen enemy, COVID-19. But here I am humbly knocking on your kind hearts to please help us extend the life of our father, Gerardo De Leon.

Yesterday, 21 March 2020, my father was rushed to the hospital due to difficulty in breathing caused by his heart condition. He was immediately put in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) due to the complication with his lungs. Water is starting to fill up his lungs causing the oxygen level to go down.

It has already been a day and the medical expenses keep on adding up. My siblings and I were able to pool all our resources amounting to Php 27,000.00 (540 USD) during the first few hours. But this is only for the medicines. Our bill for the first day amounted to Php107,344.00 (2,105 USD). Given our situation, it’s difficult for us to sustain and maintain the medicines, and other hospital expenses that are needed by our father.

More so, given the Enhanced Quarantine Situation in Luzon, it’s hard for us to seek assistance from different agencies. Most companies are in limited operation which also affects our source of income. Also, public hospitals here in Batangas are on full alert status because of the COVID-19 which leaves us with limited mobility for our father.

We understand that this is indeed a difficult time for everyone. We will appreciate any amount you can share with us. This will be of great help to our father. We will be forever grateful for your kindness.
