Medical expenses for Mick

A native of Scotland, Mick served in the U.K. Military for short time before moving to Canada, where he has lived for almost fourteen years. Because he has never officially become a Canadian citizen, he does not qualify for health care/benefits, nor any federal support, this is compounded by his lack of ID, which was stolen seven years ago.
Mick, at seventy-eight years old, has recently suffered a fall causing him to break his hip. Although the surgery has gone well, he is just now starting on the long road to recovery. Myself, and the rest of the family are now requesting help to offset the costs of his emergency care, and to help accommodate him with a hospital bed and wheelchair, so he can maintain a certain level of comfort, convenience and quality of life.
