is currently in ICU and has been for over 3 weeks now. She was rushed to the hospital because she was unable to urinate & CT scan revealed that her kidney was failing due to septicemia caused by a ruptured intestine which she was unaware of.

Septicemia is the result of a massive immune response to bacterial infection that gets into the blood. It often leads to organ failure or injury.Sepsis is a medical emergency that becomes fatal or life-changing for many of the individuals who develop this "blood poisoning."

Mum flat-lined 3 times while in surgery and once in ICU and

she survived these. During her first days in ICU, the doctors gave us a

prognosis of 40% chance of survival. But mum is a fighter and has always

been a fighter and we will fight with her. While her recovery is slow,

she is improving daily.

She is still on ventilator as she

is unable to breathe on her own. She is feeding through nasogastric tube

(NGT) & taking antibiotics and blood transfusions to fight off the

infection still in her system.

We have created this page

to seek out help with her medical bills as the cost is rapidly

increasing far more than what we can cope with. My sister has stopped

working for now to look after mum. We are managing her daily medications

& other expenses but we need help with more expenses:

ICU - for 4 weeks - $22,500

Doctors' Fee - estimated at $12,500
