Medical course – a pathway to the future

How it all started Do you remeber that day, when you've first said "when I grow up, I want to be a..." ? Yeah, we've all been there. At the age of 5 the sentence ends probably with a "princess", "astronaut" or "firefighter". But these are the dreams that we hardly ever keep until the graduation.  Growing up, we get to know the world better and change our perspective thousands of times, to finally reach the point at which we need to make the actual choice. Most of us still have a problem. Only few know exatcly what they're made for and these are probably the ones to achieve their goals best in the future. In my last year before International Baccalurate final exams, I am one of such people and my choice is to save lifes! Why this? I've always been close to biology and human health due to my personal problems. Knowing not everything's right with my body inspired me to get to learn how it works and what processes stand for our breath, for the beating of our hearts.  Medical course is a way many people choose because of money, popularity, feeling the mission. My choice is not to work as a doctor, but to get as much knowledge about the human body as possible and use it to study the processes and find new cures for the problems our civilisation is facing RIGHT NOW. They say it is almost impossible to find a young person with the whole world under their feet who would wish to spend their whole life in a lab, pouring mixtures from one test tube to another... well, here I am! What's the money for? Getting into medical studies is not such an easy thing to do, and good grades are only half of the succes. What universities look at mostly is the so-called "medical experience". This means they want you to know what you're getting yourself into. I have already arranched to work voluntarily in a hospital, but it is of course only a possiblility to SEE the habitat, not to DO anything close to the work of a doctor or a scientist.  To truly feel what it's like to train for a doctor, experience the dissection room and the OIOM, I wish to attend a special pre-medical course for high school students, taking place in Warsaw (Poland) on 7th-11th of July this summer. The course fee is 2500z? and here is when I ask YOU to help me fulfill my dreams, achieve goals and become a responsible doctor and scientist who will change the world and give a chance for life to thousands of people in the future.
