Help Save Our Mommy

Update posted by Leah Laderas On Jul 31, 2019

The last machine connected to mom has been removed today. She is now breathing on her own. Her scar (a big one) on her forehead eh natuyo na rin ng maayos. Good call to not allow her to be transferred to 'the real ICU'. We just had her room converted into one. There was this patient who was operated on. He was relatively fine. Pero he had to be taken pa rin to the ICU. There he contracted a lot of infections, diseases, etc. Now he is in critical condition. Buti na lang pala i checked on the condition of the ICU here on the 2F first bago kami pumayag (me, jo & les) ilagay doon ang mommy. Nakakadiri! Tabi-tabi ang pasyente (pay at charity) Hindi madalas malinisan (palit sheets lang) And kung sinu-sino anh nakakapag-labas masok sa kwarto. Speaking of kwarto, we just transferred to another room. A smaller one. Mas praktikal.po kasi. The amount we will save sa difference ng room rate we can use for other stuff like meds, supplies or pambayad sa mga private nurses na tumitingin sa kanya 24/7. Thank you again for helping and praying for the recovery of our mom. Tuloy-tuloy na po sana ito...

Mom is still in the ICU. Actually she is in her private room which we converted to an ICU (complete with all the gadgets she needs)

Right now medyo pakikiusapan muna namin yung mga gustong dumalaw to be contented with simply a 'peek' of mommy. Silip lang po muna. May pneumonia po kasi siya ngayon.

Doctors said she is prone to that kasi nga po isang linggo na siyang naka-ventilator. We are hoping (and praying) na ma-wean na siya from it para mag-tuloy-tuloy na yung recovery.

We do not want her na masanay ng may aid ng ventilator sa paghinga niya. We want her to be able to breathe na on her own. Kaya naman po ng mommy ito. Palaban ito.

Again, maraming, maraming salamat po for continuously praying for my mom's recovery. We are grateful. - LADERAS KIDS

Yesterday our mom was removed from PACU (post-anesthesia care unit) and was brought to her room. I wish I could tell you that she is already better because she is now in her room but she isn’t yet. “wala lang pwesto sa ICU kaya dinala siya sa kwarto niya at doon ikinabit lahat ng kailangan ilagay sa katawan niya; ventilator, oxygen, NGT, dextrose, cardiac monitor, etc.” Her room looks like an Intensive Care Unit right now.

Her arms (black & blue from several needle punctures) and legs are swollen. Her right eye, for 3 weeks now hasn’t been functioning properly. The nerves (which controls the movement of the eye itself and the lid) has been damaged. And the right part of her head… :-(

She is being constantly monitored. A private nurse is looking after her 24/7. Initially we resisted on her having one because that would mean additional expenses but the doctors explained that it is necessary. Her breathing is supported mainly by the ventilator.

Hopefully a few days from now our mom would regain her strength. Her scar would heal nicely. The swelling of her arms and legs would subside. She be fed orally (kahit soft diet lang) She would start talking again. Please help us pray for her swift recovery.

Thank you very much.

After spending more than 3 weeks in the hospital my mom finally got the treatment she badly needed. Yesterday, a portion of her skull was opened to clip the ruptured vein and treat her aneurysm. Everything went smoothly. But towards the end of her procedure her blood pressure started to go down and her heart stopped. For 5 minutes the doctors tried to revive her.

The surgeon went out of the operating room and spoke to us. He told us what happened. Shortly after a nurse called him back to the O.R. - My mom’s heart stopped again. The doctor rushed back in to revive my mom.

Soon after the cardio came out to see us. Normally I appreciate honest, no sugar-coating, real talk. But yesterday I hated everything the doctor was telling us because he was very frank and straightforward; That my mom might not wake up from this procedure. That the lack of oxygen to her brain (when her heart stopped. twice) might have caused irreparable damage. That the first 12-24 hours were critical.

PLEASE HELP US PRAY HARD FOR OUR MOM. We love her deeply and we do not want to lose her.

Thank you very much.

Yesterday, July 13, 2019 was my mom’s scheduled procedure to treat her aneurysm. The procedure was cancelled and moved to a later date because the night before, July 12, 2019 she suffered a heart attack. Right now the doctors are treating her for 2 things; her aneurysm and her heart ailment.

Yesterday after lunch she had another episode. Her BP went down. Experienced chest pains. Sweated profusely. And was nauseated. Doctors initially gave her fluids then later on some medicine to increase her blood pressure. She was also connected to a heart monitor machine. Since yesterday the doctors are monitoring her BP.

We are hoping that her blood pressure stabilizes soon so that she could have the treatment she badly needs. We are also hoping that while we are waiting for her condition to get better we would be able to come up with the funds needed for her surgery. Thank you very much.
