medical care for 10 year old Hasani

I am a former Canadian Child Protection Social Worker and currently am staying n Tanzania to take a break from Child Protection for a bit. Then I met 10 year old Hasani who has had this infection since he was 6 years old. The infection is in his bone whereby pieces of bone are starting to come out due to lack of consistent medical care. He used to live with his parents in Dar Es Salaam but he currently lives with his aunt in Tanga, Tanzania.

I met him at a soccer field and he was crying because his friend said he got hurt and then Hasani lifted his pants to show me this big infection puss oozing from it. I am told one day he fell at school and since then his condition has gotten worse. Family did take him to hospital but the doctors couldn't cure him and treatment was not consistent and finally stopped due to costs His infection has grown and is affecting his one side of the body. He is coughing and has runny nose. He looks like he had a stroke on one side. Eyes are drooping on one side and watery. He is so sick that he is not attending school for the past few years .

When I met him he had no medication or ointment..I have so far taken him to the hospital got him medications, including ointment and an X-ray. The doctors have so far reported that this condition is treatable but requires consistent care plus surgery to remove the decaying bone from his body. He needs further treatment by going to Dar Es Salaam or Kenya to do a culture test. I have limited amount finances and had to return to Dar Es Salaam. I have been sending whatever money I can personally afford to his aunt for his medical care and so far his aunt has followed through with minimum supervision . I would personally like to be involved in his treatment because I find that there is a barrier to maintain his care due to regular family hardships.

If I get full funding, I will personally go to Tanga ( as I live 6 hours away) and attend all his appointments. If not I will be sending whatever I can collect to his aunty. His aunt does have a small baby who breast feeds. I am worried this boy has just been left behind and needs someone who can ensure that all his needs are met. If anyone is able to help pls let me know. I will try to provide receipts pictures etc. I also have a trusted friend in the neighborhood where Hasani currently lives and he has also agreed to be part of Hasani's get well campaign to make sure the money goes to Hasani's treatment. This is no crappy commercial where half the money goes to fundraisers, this is no scam. This is strictly to find out what's wrong with Hasani get him treated including transportation to the hospitals. Sponsors can also communicate directly to the family of Hasani.
