Hello friends, family and those with kind and generous hearts who would like to help. We are in need of your help and assistance. My best friend's mom, Felicidad Santua, 74 y/o, is still in need of medical treatment and is still in the ICU for weeks now. She was admitted since June 12 at Westlake Medical Center in San Pedro, Laguna. Before she got accepted with the said hospital, we were asked to pay P25,000 as deposit before she gets the assistance by the hospital. My best friend fought for her right as based from the government law (RA 8344), no hospital should ask any payment or deposit before the patient will be given treatment.

Tita Fely has been having difficulty in removing waste from her intestines. She was first placed in the ward for observation. She was diagnosed of fecal impaction with the risk of guts eruption due to tearing of bloated intestines. She was then placed in the ICU due to difficulty of breathing. She was then operated to remove the fecals that got stuck in her large intestines. Due to her age her blood pressure dropped during operation and with God's guidance and good doctors she survived it, however she is now with a colostomy bag (washable), which is less than a hundred pesos per piece with min/max usage of 3-5 pcs per week depending on her bowel movement. We intended to use the disposable ones as it is cheaper. Currently, she's still recovering from the operation with a ventilator attached to her. The doctors are working up on her blood pressure, potassium count, oxygen and trying to get rid of Pseudomonas bacteria from her lungs. We are seeking your help because right now we are paying the medicines in cash basis because as per the hospital's policy, we are supposed to settle at least half of the total running bill. Our current bill is already at P300,000.00+. We are not capable in paying the bill right away and the life and recovery of Tita Fely must come first. The partial payment made as of this date is only at P51,000.00. So what is happening is that every time medicines (procedures, lab tests and medical supplies) are needed by the patient, we were asked to settle it first before they will provide it to the patient. My best friend is the only daughter of Tita Fely. The help that she's getting are from family, friends and office mates. With the bill that keeps adding up everyday especially charges from ICU and professional fees, we are not yet capable on paying it in full once Tita Fely recovered. she spends 5-7t (more or less) a day for medicines, lab tests, medical supplies and doing everything and catching up with stress to survive each shift's expenses (there are 3 shifts in a day). We are knocking your kind heart if you can shower your blessings with us so that Tita Fely will be treated continuously and to finally recover. Donations toward the medical bills will truly be appreciated, I'm sure they will forever grateful or maybe make it all up to you in her own ways, any amount will help, in cash or in kind will be appreciated. The hospital can also provide their account number if you choose to direct donations to it. Thank you very much for your help and please keep my best friend's mother, your friend, your sister Felicidad in your prayers. Thank you and God bless you all.
