Medical Bill for Ashford Ngugi

We are fundraising to pay for my brother's medical bill, a total of Ksh. 1.26 million (approx US$ 12,600.00). Ashford Ngugi has been in Kijabe hospital, Kenya since October last year and has undergone 3 major operations to remove a section of his large intestines. NHIF (Medical aid in Kenya) has paid Ksh. 260,000.00 (approx US$ 2,600.00). Family and friends have started fundraising to clear the balance so that Ashford can be released from hospital and go home. Update: 8th April 2019

I am happy to report that my brother is back home with his family. Unfortunately, he is still very weak and has lost a lot of weight...but in good spirits, given what he has gone through in the last few months. However, his doctor is happy with his progress.

It was also very encouraging to see that family and friends in Kenya have come together and fundraised approximately US $ 1,800.00. Through Gogetfunding.com, we have raised US$ 1,755.00. So, a total of US $ 3,555.00 raised so far. The family in Kenya are also planning for another fundraising meeting.
