I am Meline Asryan, a graduate student at the American University of Armenia (AUA) pursuing a Master’s degree in Political Science and International Affairs. I obtained my Bachelor's degree in English & Communications from the same university. Currently, I am working as an IT Project Manager at Willing & Able LLC in Yerevan, Armenia.

The fundraising initiative aims to help my fellow-citizens to recover from the devastating war in Artsakh/Nagorno Karabakh. Follow the below description to be more informed about the current situation in Artsakh (Nagorno Karabakh) and Armenia.

A new large-scale conflict erupted along the "line of contact" between Azerbaijan and Artsakh. In the early morning of Sunday, the 27th of September, Azerbaijan launched artillery attacks and airstrikes against civilians along the entire length of the front. The attacks was supported by the Turkish administration, who deployed around 3000 members of its ally, the rebel "Syrian National Army", to support its brother Azerbaijani nation against the Armenian forces. Turkey, not only deployed mercenaries, but also provided direct military support in the form of military advisors present in combat roles on the frontline.

Azerbaijan is shelling the populated cities of Artsakh including Stepanakert, Martuni and Shushi. The Azerbaijani forces are targeting Armenian journalists and representatives of the international media to prevent coverage of genuine news. Not only in Artsakh, but the Azerbaijani side is also attacking Armenia. This was stated by the Armenian officials who mentioned that their forces shot down four Azerbaijani drones near the capital city of Yerevan. As of October 4th, due to the Azerbaijani aggression,19 civilians were killed and 80 others were wounded, and over 2700 property and infrastructure damaged in Artsakh. In addition, 229 Armenian servicemen were killed and hundreds of servicemen were hospitalized.

Considering the indescribable hostility and damage that Azerbaijan and Turkey caused to the Armenian nation, I am willing to start an initiative and raise financial resources particularly for the wounded and hospitalized servicemen and their families. The vast majority of these heroes are from different regions, small towns and villages of Armenia and Artsakh. Not all of them have the financial capabilities to take care of their medical expenses and rehabilitation fees. Their recovery will take colossal time, energy and financial resources.

I want to help out as many families and individuals as possible, the contribution will be determined based on the financial situation of the families and the medical conditions of the wounded soldiers. Many of the wounded servicemen are 18 years old boys. These brave soldiers are just starting their life and they have so much to do in life, they have so many plans, hopes and dreams. Help us make Armenia and its future strong and powerful.

Every single contribution is vital for the Armenian nation, we need to unite our resources and help people directly. We need the funds as soon as possible because the treatments need to be implemented immediately. Once I collect at least 25% of the initial target, I will start giving out the money to the families.

Please, follow my social media accounts, so I can keep you updated and present you the results of your generous contributions and help.
