Medical Assistance for Nenilia Apines

Hello everyone, and happy Valentine's Day to all. Unfortunately, as much as we wish we were celebrating with a simple meal as a family date, we are humbly knocking on your hearts doors for any assistance you can give.

Our Mama Neneng (Shaun & Mareyne's mom, my mama-in-law), was admitted into the hospital last week due to complications with her hypertension and diabetes.

For a couple of days, she had been under observation to lower both her sugar level and blood pressure. However, this did not improve. After she mentioned that she was feeling some numbness or weakness in her right side (from face to leg), she had originally been informed by a doctor that she just needed to rest, but resting didn't improve either. We decided to pull her out of the provincial hospital last night and get consulted this morning with a specialist here in Cebu City.

After this morning's consultation, it has been confirmed that Mama suffered a mild stroke and is in need of an MRI, 2D echo and several other lab tests to get her back to normal. As you can imagine, we're just a small family in the Portillo-Apines side and the medical costs plus medicines Mama needs is starting to weigh heavily on us, and there is no medical insurance to help ease the cost.

We're not sure how long Mama will be in the hospital, but we have estimated that her bill will be somewhere in the 100K amount in pesos which includes therapy for her stroke, the laboratory costs that she had been advised to get, and the medications she'll be needing. Should we be able to collect for the full amount of the hospital bill, any extra money will go to the medicines she has to maintain once she is up an about.

Our family is not used to asking for assistance, but we have no one else to run to. And we don't want to add any burden to those who aren't able to assist. We are humbly knocking on your hearts doors for any assistance you can give, as every little bit helps. And if kind donations are not possible, we ask for you to share this post and pray for our Mama to get better.
