Campaign Story
On Friday late afternoon my Papa (Nick Ferreira) was working (his business is making and selling icies to schools & spaza shops in the rural areas) when he was shot in his femur. My mama bear had to collect him from the crime scene herself and rush to the nearest state hospital which was Matikwana Hospital as we cannot afford medical aid.
He needs surgery and was transferred via ambulance to Themba Hospital where they were going to perform the surgery.
Saturday we were told on Monday (26th October) he would have the surgery but unfortunately the doctor only saw him on Monday therefore surgery is only to be done at a later stage. Since Papa Nick arrived at Themba hospital Friday night he was connected to a catheter which was leaking, for 2 days he had to remain in a bed soaked in his urine before the medical assistants attended to him.
What makes things worst is the fact that we are not even allowed to see him because of the covid-19 pandemic.
We have created this fundraiser to try and give my Papa the medical care he needs as sadly South Africa's state hospitals do not provide the required medical assistance and care for their patients.
We thank God that the situation was not fatal and pray for miracle healing over my Papa.
Any and all donations will be used to provide medical aid for my Papa.

A few individuals in high up positions personally took interest to follow up on our case. . . . .

Since my Papa has been submitted (Friday 23rd Oct). . . . .
