Hello Kind People!

My name is Patricia and with me is my partner Vonic, let us share with you the story on how we started to raise funds to help our community who are in need.

Who we are

Me and my partner Vonic has been blessed to have a restaurant called Dapo dapo restaurant located in the heart of Quezon city, in Scout Tobias.

Our Story

(I promise to make it short for you, but please finish reading til the end.)

In the beginning of the enhanced community quarantine, we catered a lot of food delivery in different parts of QC, because most of the establishments are closed and the government issued a total lockdown in Luzon.

On those times we noticed a lot of homeless people sleeping on almost every sidewalk in our area. Some are lucky to receive relief goods from our local government. (relief goods meaning, uncooked rice, canned goods, instant noodles)

Grateful for the assistance that they've provided, but I guess they forgot that these people are literally homeless, they only have temporary shelter from putting together old cardboard boxes. They don't have any means to cook the relief goods that was given to them.

Our Mission

Our mission is to give cooked meals for our people who doesn't have food to eat due to the pandemic COVID 19. Our priority is to help the people who are in need in these tough times. We want to help them in our own small ways, First is by giving healthy meals which are cooked so they don't have to worry about anything. Secondly, we plan to also give relief goods (sack of rice, fresh produce, basic necessities) to small town and provinces outside Quezon city who are deeply affected with the lockdown, most of them doesn't have any income right now because most of the establishments are closed, non operational. Meaning, no work, no pay for the workers.

The food cost per meal is only about USD 3, or in our local currency 75 Philippine Peso. This includes a combination of fresh produce everyday as we go to the market every morning to buy vegetables, pork, fish etc. Filipinos eat a lot of rice too, that’s why we have to purchase a 50kg sack of rice for the meal distribution. Fruit pack juices and also styrofoam packages for the meals are also included in the cost. This is where the budget is spent.

#ActOfKindness

We understand that these are really tough times, and we don't want to ask for monetary donations alone. Any kind donations are accepted, whether it can be bottled waters, sack of rice for us to cook for the homeless. Any act of kindness are deeply appreciated.

Please know that we are truly grateful for your time reading the story of our people and if it's not too much to ask. You can help us to share their story in this platform and to your friends and other people.

If in any case you want to donate bottled waters etc, you can directly contact me in Facebook under Dapo Restaurant Bar.

From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you!
