The current situation in the world due to COVID-19 is scary, but while it has put most of us in mere inconvenience, it has put a lot more people in a perpetual nightmare. A nightmare of where they will get their next meal. Of how they are going to feed their families. A nightmare of how they will take care of their sick and old age. It’s tough out there for so many people, but we can all play our part in bringing joy and happiness to someone’s life. In times like this, we should rise to the occasion and assist those who are struggling amongst us. This is why, in partnership with the student guild and Solid Africa (an NGO that feeds vulnerable patients at public hospitals in Rwanda), the Mastercard Foundation scholars at Carnegie Mellon University Africa are raising funds to support people who may be in need during these trying times. Please consider supporting this cause and ease someone’s life today. ALL FUNDS COLLECTED WILL GO TO SOLID AFRICA.

About Solid Africa

Solid 'Africa is a non-profit organization, operating in Rwanda since 2011, with the mission to help vulnerable patients in public hospitals. Through five programs, the organization provides food, hygienic products and other services with the goal to accelerate patient recovery process, preserve patient's dignity and promote equity. Solid'Africa main program is Gemura- Food for All which provide food for the vulnerable patients in public hospitals that relies on charitable organizations to be fed. Prior to Covid-19, we were feeding 400 vulnerable patients in CHUK. Due to COVID-19, our industrial kitchen, Mike Stenbock Gemura Kitchen built in partnership with Imbuto Foundation, had to step up. We are now in four public hospitals, serving 800 patients a day with 3 meals. We are producing 2400 meals a day. We serve CHUK, Kibagabaga Hospital, Muhima Hospital as well as Masaka Hospital.
