Maya dog want to start a new life

This is Maya, 3 years old rottweiler that was found crippled and exhausted lying on the road.

Maya was found on August 1 along the Odessa highway (Ukraine) lying on the ground completely exhausted. Seems like the dog had been starving for more than one week. Fortunately, the eco-activist Julia Koval noticed her when she was driving a car. She loaded the dog into a car and rushed to a veterinary clinic in Kyiv.

Doctors revealed a fracture of the spine and severe indigestion. Her back was completely paralyzed. Therapists said that it takes 9 months to fully restore Maya’s legs.

On August 6, Maya underwent major spinal surgery. Titanium plates were inserted.

Nowadays, Maya lives in the animal shelter. She crawls on her forepaws and unable to engage her hind legs. Slowly but gradually she regains strength.

EVERY DAY recreation therapists conduct a series of exercises in order to recover Maya’s hind legs. And there are early successes: Maya's rear paw starts to move!

Every day we spend $60 on the Maya’s maintenance: shelter payments, recreation procedures, food, medical supplies.

The money we’ve raised for Maya’s treatment has dried up. We are afraid that we can no longer find the money to pay for her treatment.
