All Grade 12 students at Hage Geingob High School in Namibia failed to attain a C symbol or better on their mathematics, accounting, business studies and economic exams. Coincidentally, I was looking for a school to volunteer my teaching services to and since the principal of the school knew I had assisted other students with basic computer training, he was also trying to contact me so we ended up agreeing that I would take Grade 12A a class of 26 students.

I am introducing a digital classroom for these kids while teaching them the tips of passing national exams. I am no fan of Standardized tests but because they are standardized, i know how to always do well in them.

As part of my teaching strategy, I thought it would be a good idea to reward the learners for three important pledges they made in class namely:
--Participate in class
--Be on time to class
--Do any homework or assignments I give them

I asked the students to name any non-monetary rewards that would motivate them to study and meet the three pledges named above. The students responded with various suggestions as follows:
--Calculators
--Notebooks
--Mathematical Sets
--Shoes
--Uniform
--Other stationery
--Meet public figures in the country like musician Exit, Prime Minister Saara Amadhila, First lady Monica Geingos among others, Socialites like Dillish Mathews.

This list is quite imposing for me because I do not have the funds to get these basic necessities for studying. The commitment i made was to teach them everything I know about mathematics, Accounting, Economics and Business Studies. That promise I have kept by meeting them EVERYDAY since the 4th of September 2019. I record all my classes so that the students and others can access the lesson again at a later time.

I have started approaching local organisations but the organisational bureaucracies makes the process long and possibly not fruitful.

Seeing that examinations are starting by the end of September 2019, I turned to the most trusted site for initiatives like this hence my presence right now on GoGetFunding.
