We are MASA Inc. (Magkasamang Adhikain Solar Association Inc.). We commit to empowering electricity-isolated communities by awareness-education programs towards a responsible way of living via non-destructive renewable (Solar) science & technology. Also, we are a Securities and Exchange Commission’ (SEC) Environment registered, non-profit "SOLAR LIGHTS of HOPE ADVOCACY" -- bringing FREE Solar Lamps, Street Light, Solar Generator Set to the Ethnic, indigent communities and remote schools-mountain areas without electricity access.

We are planning to donate 500 lamps to IP communities in Batanes this coming April and 1100 lamps to the IP communities of Tawi-tawi this coming July. We asked the Dumagats to create the base for these lamps and in return give them a livelihood. Also, we are a big advocate of education so we let the students from CAA National High School conduct their immersions with us so that they could learn more about how to use our solar energy and help them complete their required hours to graduate. They were taught by our volunteer technicians, and they helped create the lights for these solar lamps.

When strong storms and/or major earthquakes strike, the power supply can be off for 2-3 days. With damaged power supply and/or closed diesel stations, the diesel-generator cannot be used.In view of the multi-disasters (typhoons, earthquakes, high electric bill, Fires) frequenting our country, it is a strategic necessity to be prepared for the long-term through applied education which for us is the Solar Light-Making. Therefore, we conduct workshops to educate people on how to make use of our solar energy. Also, we teach them about how we create our solar lamps by using recyclable materials to help reduce waste, and use solar energy which does not have any waste bi-products to help raise awareness about global warming and how we can prevent it.

By becoming one of our sponsors, you’ll be able to assist us in funding the creations of the 1,600 solar lamps that we plan to donate in these coming months to the electricity isolated communities in Batanes and Tawi-tawi . This will help at least a thousand family and numerous citizens that have been deprived of electricity for so long. Students there will then be able to study at night, and parents will be able to do additional chores even when its late.

Each lamp costs ₱1,500. Therefore, we are hoping to raise ₱2.5m to make our Batanes and Tawi-tawi project possible.

(₱750,000 for our Batanes Project)(₱1,650,000 for our Tawi-tawi Project)

  • You are doing a very noble and inspiring deed in lighting up communities that are not accessible by local electric provider. I am already envisioning students of these communities graduate from school and become good leaders and citizens of the community and country. Good Luck!

We have yet to raise enough funds, but we are hoping for a brighter future. Looking forward to see more people sharing this and donating to us so we could help give hope to those who have been deprived of electricity one lamp at a time.
