My name is Marvina Whethers I’m seeking funding for College Tuition. I have a disability I was diagnosed in 2003 with a documented disability. In 2003, I had seen multiple doctors to find a combination of medications that would help me. I had a number of trips to the hospital and each time it was not only heartbreaking but I felt I was losing hope. I had to keep starting over, fighting theses battles. The fact that I do have this disability its affects my ability to work. I've had multiple jobs that I could not stay on. Moreover, once I was diagnosed I was hoping and praying there would be a medication to help me. With all the clinical trials I participated in eleven years later doctors found a medication that would help me. Unfortunately, then I got very ill and I was in and out of the hospital once again. With the Medical Bills piling up I did not know where to turn. Unfortunately, my certification had lapsed in that time period. When I got out of the hospital I contacted American Academy of Professional Coders for reinstatement I don't recall verbatim the conversation. AAPC did advise me that I had maybe a week to get caught up on membership dues, and CEU's had to be paid before they would reinstate my certification. That was back in 2010. Because of financial difficulties I could not afford to pay the fees. I was hurt and devastated when the certification lapsed. I did not stop pushing for my goal in 2011. I decided to go back to college to get my Bachelor’s Degree. My major is Health Information Administration. In my continued effort to meet my education goals, this fundraiser is my last hope to keep myself in college. I’m maxed out in unsubsidized and subsidized loans with FAFSA. I would like to continue to stay in college. I’m a junior college student. Although I’ve been through some difficult times I’m striving for success. I chose to be in the Health Informatics Administration program because it covers a broad scope of healthcare. Since 2012 I’ve wanted to go back to school. It has been very difficult for me to stay focused to obtain my Bachelor’s degree. Although, it took a while to get back in to school because of my disability, I finally did it.                             I went to a seminar and got all the details about this college that have online classes and said this is just what I’ve been looking for. I was happy to know that the classes were totally online. In addition, I was inspired to hear the Disability program director of the HIA program was on my side. So many times I wanted to give up.   I would like to continue to stay in college. I’m a junior college student. Moreover, the cost of attending college can be expensive. Because of this, some people do not have the opportunity to attend. Even as a college student, I too am struggling financially as mentioned in previous paragraphs. I am doing all I can do to help myself. However, I was not eligible for a Pell Grant or a direct plus loan, which caused me to fall short. I’m maxed out in unsubsidized and subsidized loans with FAFSA. This is my last chance to help keep myself in college and gain the education I need to follow my dreams and goals of becoming a Health Informatics Administrator. I need $2,000.00 to meet my tuition bill this year. I need $2,000.00 for the semester or my classes will drop. Thank you for your donation and God bless.  I pray in reading my story you are inspired by the fact that I’m happy to say although God may not had wanted me to get my certification(everything happens for a reason) he opened another door for me to go back to college to get my Bachelor’s degree.
