Marraige Conference for unchurched in Brazil

We are asking for help to raise money for a mission trip. We are honored and receive this calling with great humility. We attend Providence Church here in Knoxville Tennessee, that has recently started a new church in Brazil, in Campinas, a suburb of Sao Paulo, the third largest city in the world. We are going to be a part of a team of married couples from the United States that will lead a marriage conference. At this conference, 100 Brazilians, most of whom are non believers, will be hearing about Christ and working on their marriages.

The trip is July 28–August 7 of this year. We are so excited…and nervous! This is our first international mission trip. Here are some specific ways you can pray for us:

• That we will study hard and be ready to help people with their marriages.
• That our marriage will grow and that we will grow spiritually.
• That the people we meet will know Christ, grow closer to him, and improve their marriages.
• That we’ll be able to save and raise the money we need for the trip. It’s going to cost us $5000 plus meals to go.

You might be wondering, “Why are you going all the way to Brazil to do a marriage conference?” Because the church we recently planted there thinks this will help them reach many new people. Brazilians love conferences and the fact that some American couples are coming down to be with them is a huge attraction. In fact, they’ve already booked all the spots for the conference! Several years ago, our church started a church in Rio de Janeiro. We did a similar marriage conference there to help them reach others and grow. Now that church has thousands of members whose lives have been changed by God. This is what we want to see happen again.
