Hi everyone, thanks for taking some time of your day to read this.
So Marko is a 24-year-old, who has been struggling with his disease ever since he was a toddler. His illness is an autoimmune disease, which means he will struggle with this his whole life. He requires yet another liver which will make his life a little bit easier in the upcoming years.
The issue is he can't receive just a piece of the organ, the liver has to be from someone who is a year younger or older than him, alongside the usual requirements of blood type, condition... etc.
He is taking medication every day from morning to night. These medications aren't cheap at all. He is with his mother for over a year in a foreign country waiting for the liver since the procedure isn't done in his own country. The mother is on a medical visa, hasn't been on her job for over a year. She is getting 65% pay only. The father is home working trying to manage the bills at home, the ones they get, and the monthly medication that is required for a somewhat normal functional life.
The separation is taking a toll on both sides, it is really hard to not be able to be with family and friends. The current pandemic isn't helping their situation at all.
If they leave the country he might be taken down the donor waiting list, which would negatively impact their mental and financial situation even more. They are living in a joint home with families who have similar medical problems. They haven't been home for over a year now.
The bills keep piling up every month, making it harder and harder to pull through. And now the question is, get food or get medicine.
Thank you all for reading this, and if you consider donating we all will be ever grateful to each and every one of you.
Take care everyone.
PS. You can read about his condition in more details in the provided pictures.
