Marivi Tarcin is my 6-month old kitty that was diagnosed with FIP about a month ago.

During the summer she suffered from a very tough flu, from which she took almost two months to recover. Even after she got better regarding the flu and the bacterial infection that she had on her lungs, she did not go back to being that hyperactive little kitty that would not stop running around the house. She was very inactive, would do nothing besides sleep all day, and would get up only to use the toilet. Then I noticed that she was not using her back legs properly, she would frequently fall and could not walk in a straight line, and would sometimes drag her feet behind her. When she wanted to get on the bed or the sofa, she would pull herself up using her front paws.

The vet did some tests, and based on the results and the physical symptoms, he diagnosed her with neurological FIP. He suggested starting the treatment with the GS441524 medicine as soon as possible. However, the medicine is very expensive, and at the moment, as a recent graduate on my first job post-uni, I cannot afford it. I have asked for help from everyone I could possibly ask, and I have run out of options, which is why I now need to ask for help from anyone that can spare something for my little Tarcin.

Just this past month, she has responded greatly to the treatment and has improved significantly. She has gained some weight, can now use her back legs almost completely properly, and can even jump up on the table sometimes; she is running around the house non-stop trying to play with anything she can find, and asking (very verbally) for our participation in her play time and for our cuddles. She is melting my heart!

Seeing how just a month’s worth of the medicine has improved her condition, it gives me hope that she can recover from this horrible disease, and continuing the treatment is vital for that. So, if you have the means to help out a little bit for her treatment, it would mean the world to me and Tarcin if you considered contributing to the fundraiser I have prepared for her.

The target amount is a rough calculation of how much it would cost for the 12 weeks of treatment to be completed, with a vial of 5.2ml costing minimally 60 euros. She needs around 2 vials per week at the moment. Since she is also gaining weight, and the amount of medicine I have to give her depends on her weight, she will most likely need more than 2 vials a week in the future, so accounting for that too, it comes down to roughly the target amount in the fundraiser.

I know that in Turkey (as I am located in Istanbul/Turkey) there are some issues when it comes down to such platforms, so if you would like to help, I am also writing down my bank information:
