Due to circumstances beyond my control this year I had to take three months off of work due to health issues. My health deteriorated quickly in the end of May to the point I was constantly seeing Dr.'s and having testing done. I cashed in all my retirement money to pay my bills and eat. I wasn't working full-time at my one job at the time because I had just been laid off from my full-time job and was collecting unemployment for a few weeks. My employer offered me work, however due to my health, I couldn't take the work offered because I was suffering a flare up of Interstitial Cystitis, which is also referred to as "painful bladder syndrome". Interstitial cystitis makes a person feel like they need to urinate constantly, it causes pressure, bloating, pelvic pain and incontinence. I was diagnosed March of this year after three bouts of what I thought were urinary tract infections. I was referred to a urologist and had multiple tests and tried multiple medications. During this time I was also suffering from stomach pain and nausea, so I was referred to a gastroenterologist. I had multiple testing done and we are still trying to determine what is wrong with my stomach and due to the stomach issue, I could not take pain relievers and had to watch what I ate. To top it all off, I was experiencing severe pain in my abdomen and groin area not only due to my interstitial cystitis, I also had uterine issues which required surgery and biopsy. My medical health issues added to my chronic depression and I was thinking of ending my life. Thank God I got the help I needed because I would not be writing this right now and I couldn't be able to watch my grandson grow up. Along with these other health issues I also suffer fibromyalgia, chronic migraines and chronic depression. Happily, I am back at work and have been doing well, I am constantly in touch and seeing Dr.'s and I see a therapist weekly and am on the road back to recovery from whatever it was that caused all my misery from June to September. I still have no answers and maybe I will never know, I just Thank God I am coming back to a healthier person. Because I was off work so long, my bills have started to stack up. I have a mortgage, homeowners insurance and a septic loan that are behind. I have managed to get assistance for some of my bills through local charities and even with working more, I am behind. I just need help in catching up. I raised my children as a single mom in this home. I have lived here for 28 years, most of them as a single mom of two. I am just putting this out there in case anyone who can empathize with someone with chronic illness can perhaps donate anything. I've been on food stamps, go to food pantries monthly and sell my items for money just to get by. Please, could you spare something? I will pay it forward and always be grateful. Thanks.
