Maria Frances Dances Her Way To London

Update posted by Maria Frances Marinay On Jun 20, 2016

Hi everyone! I hope you are all well. I just wanted to drop a quick update for you guys.

During my first year in London as a study abroad student, blogging was such a huge part of my experience. About a week ago, I found myself smiling about and reminiscing the entire 2014 whilst I was backreading my posts and all I can say is --what a year that was!!

London provided me with tons of opportunities and challenges that I am truly grateful for which is why I am never going to stop from going for my goal of going back to the UK and dance.

I am still in Dubai, currently looking for work and taking as many free yoga classes as I can, too. I've also managed to revamp my previous blog and keep it up in running once again under mariafrancesdoes.tumblr.com.

Hoping to fill the pages with exciting moments towards another UK journey that you all have chosen to support me in.

Let's keep moving forward!

"You never know what's around the corner. It could be everything. Or it could be nothing. You keep putting one foot in front of the other, and one day, you look back and you've climbed a mountain."

It amazes me how social media can impact our lives. With my campaign, I was able to reach hundreds of people: 108 Facebook shares and over 600 views in a span of one week. From these, 7 backers were encouraged to back my goal.

I know that £102 out of the many thousand that I need to raise means a long way to go in such a short amount of time however I would just like to appreciate every single one of you who backed me up, shared this page and showed support in my cause. My cause isn't a flat out charity event designed to immediately help out other people but many of you understood that taking one step in improving one's self is the start of embarking in a journey of making a wave.

You motivate me to keep this campaign going. To keep my dream alive and chase it--however unstable this path may be especially given my educational background and given the opportunities I have in the other scheme of things. THANK YOU.

Thank you for believing in me. Now, my belief in myself is stronger.

Not all is lost, we still have a few more days to go! Help me reach out to more people who will share my vision!

Let me show you how the past two years of dancing and training in the UK changed my life. This playlist captures bits and pieces of my dance experience from my first Youtube video way back in 2012, my dance performances that I've only just been dreaming about before and recent dance videos which I've shot with amazing dancers.

I also included short notes for each video to tell something more about my experience during the past five years.

I have had the privilege to work with 3 amazing PH-based dancers and videographer for a US trio's new track: Hit That James Bond. This has been my biggest Fiverr project just yet. The revenue for this will be used to fund my Elevate goal and I'm very happy to share this full video with you! From a promdi dancer to an actual semi-professional dancer? Why not?!
