Marco & Sami’s Birthday 2018

Hello, friends and their mums&dads!

We are very happy that you will be joining us on our Birthday Party next 11th of March.

This time, similar to what we did last year, we thought we would share our Birthday happiness with other kids who probably get less reasons to smile than we do. And while last year, after our trip to Cambodia over Christmas, we wanted to help the school that we had visited there; this year after spending the summer in Armenia -the country where our mum was born and raised- we would be very grateful if you helped us support a family from Paravaqar that has a very different life to what we do.

We didn't know anything about Paravaqar - but when went there we found a small and very beautiful village next to the border with Azerbaijan (your mum&dads might have heard about a never ending war going on between Azerbaijan and Armenia for the past 30 years!). Even though the war is not in the news, Paravaqar continues to receive frequent shootings from the Azeries. The Virabyan Family has always lived there - they have 4 children, 2 of which are our age and the other 2 are slightly older. You can see some pictures of the village and the family here. They used to live of their farm & vineyards, however the shootings before last summer destroyed the roof of their house, the whole farm, killing most of the animals. Many kind people from around the world have helped the family over the past months rebuild the roof and buying some animals. However, what we heard recently is that the toilet of their house is outside, which means that every time the kids need to go to the loo they either have to resist or risk being shot!

Our mum & dad decided to help them build a normal bathroom at home - if we have two, why can't they have at least one? - and we want to help them too! With just 1000 USD they would not have to worry about shootings so much!

While for us receiving normal birthday gifts could be cool, we think we would be much happier and more proud if we helped our friends in Paravaqar simply have a normal toilet at home!

It would be built by the time we go back to Armenia in summer, so we can share pictures with you - you will all see the safety and happiness you gave the family with your contribution! As the quote from someone famous mum&dad repeat many times - "We make a living by what we get, we make a LIFE by what we GIVE".... every little counts!
