Sharing is Caring: Electricity for Mangyan Village

I. OBJECTIVE

• To gain finance to support the indigenous people of Mindoro.

• To provide electricity using solar power energy.

• Non-profit II.

ABSTRACT

In some of the rural areas in Mindoro, there were indigenous people wherein technology is not present. They used to live their lives in an old generation wherein they were left behind and maybe because they want to preserve the kind of culture and tradition that's why they moved far away from other groups of people. Seeing those children who are eager to learn and to go to school made a great impact on us. But at some point, how can they study at night if there is no electricity that will support their future. Upon reaching on them, during at night, they used the traditional way of lighting the house using what we called Kerosene lamps that will support the whole night and will light up in the area of their house, and the other side is dark. Those indigenous people are Mangyan, the native settlers of Mindoro. Many of us didn't know the real story behind these indigenous people, so together with us let us know who they are really are.
