Mandela Day -The Green Door

As you are aware, Mandela Day is quickly approaching, which has sparked the thinking of the Social Committee with regards to which initiative we can support for 2018.

After much deliberation, we have decided to support the Green Door shelter, which is located in Diepsloot and homes multiple women and children whom were subject to bullying, abuse and sexual violence. You can read more about Brown and his initiative here.

Due to the recent fires, which occurred in the Diepsloot area, many of the shacks have subsequently burnt down, leaving residents homeless and stranded, relying on the Green Door for shelter. To assist Brown with the high demand of vulnerable individuals, the Social Committee is asking for your help!

If you would like to contribute to the initiative for Mandela Day, we will be collecting donations in increments of R67 to fund the necessary items required by the Green Door – such as: rape kits, blankets, clothing, food etc. As this is for a really good cause, please feel free to contribute more than the minimum of R67.Furthermore, the Green Door is additionally looking to paint the interior of the shelter and plant a veggie garden, which is an activity we said we will assist with.
