For Mandela Day, instead of donating once and having very little sustainability, I would love to invite you to donate R150 ($11). This will pay for a reusable Subz sanitary pad package that includes:
- 2 Panty
- 6 Washable Pads
- 6 Sealable Bags
- 1 Drawstring bag
Approximately 60% of young women aged 13-19 stay at home once a month as they can't afford sanitary products. Would you be able to pass your grade if you missed a quarter of your education every year?
I have reached out to the Earthchild Project (http://earthchildproject.org) in order to ensure these packages go to the women intended. The Earthchild project is a wonderful organisation that promotes healthy living, yoga, environmental education and life skills.
Their programs compliment the academic curriculum helping to develop practical skills for healthy and holistic living, such as stress management techniques or permaculture to use at school and in their lives. They are present in 8 schools in Khayelitsha and Lavender Hill, facilitating over 2,000 children.
This fundraiser aims to provide sanitary packs for one of the three groups of women that Earthchild works with. Ideally, we would love to supply 55 packs (R8250).
By making this small contribution, you will be changing a female student's life for the next 5 years! She will be able to receive the education she deserves and maintain the dignity she deserves.
Any donation is welcome!
