I am 54 years old, a female, and trying to start the most amazing business. One that will allow me to make a difference in the place I call home. My home town of Taft, California. I want to open a property management company. I named it: Manage That Real Estate Sales & Management. I know it doesn't sound amazing to most people. But I believe that every job I've ever had before has led me to this place where I can make the biggest impact on the lives of so many others.

So far, I have already passed the California real estate exam, found the perfect office building, created a business plan, acquired most of the office furniture needed, got a business license, paid for the fictitious business name, and have retained a broker. I have done all of this while working part time at a local fast food restaurant making minimum wage during the past year!

What I can't afford is 3 desktop computers and the dues to join the realtor association to have access to all of the available properties, all of the legal forms I will need, and career support to help me succeed. I am so close to realizing my dream, and now I am not sure if I can clear this last hurdle on my own.

I have worked so hard all of my life. I have always helped any one who was in need when I was able to do so, and have never asked for anything in return, because that's how I was raised. I am very creative and love cleaning and painting the rentals. My husband and myself have done so for about 4 years before I was hired on to work in the office for a property management company in town. I worked in the office for 3 years before realizing that I needed to change the toxic environment I was in. It wasn't the job itself, just the kind of unprofessionalism I would not and could not tolerate any longer. So I left because I value my worth, and the worth of the love of my life. I will not go into specifics about why I could no longer work there, but I have not looked back since.

I am very creative, love to design and build a variety of different things like cat towers for my cats, and I love to sew, paint, glue, you name it I can make it!!! I even painted the 4 foot by 8 foot sign that will hang above my office, and my husband helped me build the front office counter! I have added pics so you can see them.

I want build a company that will change the direction and the attitudes of my community. I want to build a company that is able to help others in my town. During the last few years or so, Rick (we've been together for 30 years) and I have watched our town slowly fall into shambles. Due to the decline in oil production, massive layoffs, a deluge of the homeless being bussed into Taft, drug use, theft, and vandalism have really taken its toll on Taft, CA. Both my husband and myself have lived here most of our lives, and we both want to try and change this.

We do have a few things we are looking forward to, like talk of jobs returning to the area. In turn, those new employees are going to need a place to stay!

By becoming property managers, we can assist property owners with the opportunity to do needed repairs, provide security to prevent squatting and vandalism, and assist them in gaining a monthly income, rather than a code violation.

In turn, we can provide families with a decent and affordable place to call home, and when they are ready and able to purchase, we will assist them with the knowledge and credit worthiness to be able to do so by locating their dream home and assisting them in the purchase.

We are also going to volunteer needed services to our community by weekend clean up events that will get the community involved, hopefully lessening the crime rate, and creating a more safe and inviting city.

I appreciate your time and I promise you that if you donate, your gift will be payed forward many times over, and if you are not able to donate at this time, I am grateful that you cared enough to read my story.

God bless you and may you walk in peace and light and love.

Thank you.
