Manabi is located on the beautiful Pacific Coast of Ecuador, a beautiful place of diverse cultures and loving and open people. Last week it suffered a terrifying set of Earthquakes which have continued throughout the week bringing down homes, schools and hospitals. Many lives have been lost, more than the media account for and so many thousands are missing. Children left without parents and no one to help with even a cup of water in the scorching heat.
Locals as well as expats that live in the area where devastated, left without homes, food, water, medical supplies and electricity. Help has mostly been coming in from national groups of locals and expats, who skillfully have been coordinating the collection and delivery of relief articles to so desperately in need victims. These have all been sent in private trucks as well as through organizations that already were working in the affected areas.
We are hoping to help now where we can immediately, people are making ques for days for a bottle of water and unfortunately not getting the right help from the authorities. The situation is dire and not all that is shown in the media is accurate. The heat is making things ever so worse and situation in general is truly terrifying. There are whole small towns too small to be on maps that were completely devastated, when help finally did arrive it was already too late, there was no one left to help.
Our Campaign is going directly to help those who need it most as quickly as is possible. Trucks were sent last week with a people we are working with. More trucks with aid is going out but in order to keep doing so we will need your help.
We thank you for your trust and we hope to make a change and difference in the right places. From the inhabitants of Manabi, who will need a long time to rebuild , thank you. For those who have never been to Ecuador just know that your help will go a long way, today for me....tomorrow for you...
