My only son Max Andrei Josh Y. Gutiza is diagnosed with B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. He's only 3 years old.
He was admitted at Medical Center Manila last September 14, 2017 because of fever and low platelet count. He tested negative for Dengue, twice, but because his platelet count was only 10, with 150 as a normal count, he needed blood transfusion.
It was Monday, September 18, 2017 when he had Bone Marrow Aspiration. Bone marrow aspiration is a procedure that involves taking a sample from the soft tissue inside your bones. He was also tested for blood infection which came out negative. September 19, 2017, the result finally came out. As per his bone marrow aspiration result, 70% leading to B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. He still needs to undergo transfusion because his platelet count is still very low.
We were hoping that the remaining 30% will change the results.
However, it was not the result we were praying for.
Our bill with the said hospital was Php 123,000.00. We never expected the bill to be this high. Never did we expect as well that his simple fever and rashes would result to something that we never dreamed for our child to have. We only wanted the best medication for him.
We transferred to Philippine General Hospital last September 20, 2017 and remained there for three days. However, we were sent home. They recommended that we go to Philippine Children's Medical Center for further assessment and how we will proceed.
He also needed to be home to recover from the trauma of all the injections and procedure he underwent. The hardest thing to see your child go through is when he feels unsafe and traumatized inside a hospital. When he cries and pretends to be asleep whenever doctors or nurses visit.
Chemotherapy costs a lot and we have already exhausted our resources. As a parent, you wouldn't give without a big fight for your child. And money would just be a simple challenge. Walang hindi kakayanin para kay Max. Thus, we would like to seek for your help.
If you can help us raise Php 300,000.00 for my son, to cover the cost of the chemotherapy and other medical expenses. Please, we are humbly asking your kind hearts to do so. We would forever be grateful for whatever amount you can donate.
More importantly, we are asking everyone to pray for my son for his fast recovery. Walang hindi kakayanin para kay Max. Prayers can move mountain.
