Campaign Story
My grandma, Zenaida M. Salazar, is an 86-year old Filipina who grew up in Amadeo, Cavite but now lives in Quezon city with her daughter, Girley. Mama, as we call her, suffered difficulty in breathing last September 27, 2019. Since then, we've been in the hospital hooked to a mechanical ventilator (MV).
Our doctors advised for respiratory intubation due to the severity of her pneumonia and sepsis case II. We were able to remove her from MV after a week. Already preparing to go home, she suddenly had breathing difficulty again. On Oct 13, we were transferred back to ICU and back to MV. We had a lot of "almost" moments already, but Mama had the will, our love, and God's amazing grace that she was able to hold on.
Praise be to God, after more than 8 weeks in ICU she is now stable, but her lungs are weak. All we want is to be together at home for Christmas. Everyday she would ask, "It's Christmas, are we coming home?" I hope I can finally say Yes to her... and to her mechanical ventilator.
This 95,000 pesos I am humbly asking from your good heart are for the following expenses:
36,000 monthly rent for mechanical ventilator. 3,500 weekly technical support for MV. 2,000 nurse care for 12hrs, 3x a week. 1,200 caregiver care for 12hrs, 2x a week. 6,000 monthly medical supplies. 5,000 monthly electricity for MV and room conditioning. 400 for medicines.
I am Adrielle Antonio, the first grandchild of Mama by her daughter, Sarah. Due to financial difficulties, my parents had to work in Manila while I grow up with grandma. Mama was practically my mom from 0 to 6 years old. Mommy already passed away 9 years ago, but if she were still alive she would have shared this effort too.
I pray that you find in your heart to help us fulfill God's call to
continue to love and support Mama in these trying times of her life.
Thank you. May God strengthen you and your family, and bless you a hundredfold.

Mama At Home - Watching TV Mass
Update posted by Adrielle Carmela Antonio at 03:19 pmDecember 13, 2019I tuned in to Sambuhay TV Mass on Youtube while eating my pandesal and coffee. When the homily started, Mama reached for my phone. She watched the homily attentively! I also heard her laugh at the priest's jokes. Mama sleeps for about 12 hours every day. The little. . . . .
