According to the CDC, these were the leading causes of death in America in 2013.

• #1 - 611,105 people died of heart disease;
• #2 - 584,881 died of cancer;

• #3 - 251,454 deaths stemmed from a medical error;

• #4 - 149,205 died of chronic respiratory disease.

Now, 251,454 deaths from medical mistakes are too many. To put this into perspective, there were 58,000 US casualties as a result of the Vietnam War and about 410,000 US casualties in World War II.
For further comparison, car accidents account for 37,000 deaths per year and gun-related violence accounts for 31,000 deaths per year in America.

As noted above, iatrogenic or medically caused mistakes take the lives of 251,454 victims per year. It is sadly, not even close a comparison. There are far too many victims of medical negligence.

I went to undergrad at the Johns Hopkins University and earned an MD degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. I am presently a full scholarship law student in my hometown of Omaha, Nebraska at Creighton University School of Law. Upon graduating, I hope to use my MD/JD to start up a company called MalMed.

MalMed would utilize Alternative Dispute Resolution with the aim of negotiating settlements quickly out of court for victims on a nationwide level. This problem of doctors and medical staff killing people is unacceptable to this extent and degree! And, most lawyers are unable or unwilling to solve it because they lack the medical knowledge and expertise to advocate for their patient victims effectively. For most lawyers, the process of gathering evidence, called Discovery, is extremely expensive. It takes hours to find the documents and evidence or the proof of medical malpractice. It takes a lot of money to question expert witnesses and prepare them to testify as to medical malpractice.

I really have an advantage over most lawyers because I understand medical speak. I understand what can go wrong naturally and what has gone wrong from doctor or medical staff and human error. There really is a difference between "natural" deaths and doctor caused deaths. I can save hours and expense in Discovery and diagnose when doctors have made mistakes. My hope is to use my legal knowledge to expedite the process and efficiently and effectively help victims of medical malpractice.

I hope to startup my MalMed company as an e-commerce business on a nationwide scope much like LegalZoom.com. I want to help those who cannot help themselves and yet, I know, they feel like Davids facing the medical Goliaths of the corporate health and insurance worlds, who seemingly only want to protect their own interests. I want to help the “little guys.” Unfortunately or fortunately, depending on the perspective, there are a lot of victims of our health system. After all, those CDC statistics only tallied deaths. That does not even begin to scratch the surface of injury or harm, which would multiply that number greatly.

For anyone who has ever faced this specific uphill battle, it can be daunting. Hourly lawyer fees would seem unthinkable. Most don't know how the doctor "messed up" because they don't confess. Why should they? Would you admit your mistakes? Most do not and so it is up to the attorneys to find the hidden needle in the haystack. And, most lawyers did not concentrate in the sciences like biology or physiology. And if you are in the know, there are very few lawyers who are working in medical malpractice effectively.

There are risks the average lawyer must take in terms of costs and time in taking on a medical malpractice case facing financial Goliaths when there is a very high likelihood of not winning the case on a contingent basis. So, the risks of medical malpractice litigation are extremely high for lawyers. Consider if you are a lawyer and you end up spending 6 figures on a medical malpractice suit, and lose. It is a total loss. Your client got nothing and you lost a lot of money and time. It could drive you out of business quick if you don't know what you are doing, if you do not understand the practice of medicine.

I offer the opportunity for a quick settlement. I hope to diagnose the medical malpractice quickly and effectively and settle within a year instead of 4-5 years waiting for a possible win in court. I hope to offer victims a more assured settlement and money they can use when they most need it, namely soon after their injury or loss. Decisive decision making can offer such relief, instead of waiting years with even a competent lawyer for a possibly jury to decide a victim gets nothing because of a procedural technicality.

I need startup capital of $50-100,000 to start up MalMed. There are many legal restrictions on national advertising for lawyers. There is a lot of red tape, seemingly too many regulations and ethical laws preventing the marketing of litigation. But someone has to take this on. That is too many victims of an apparently sick health care system that is actually killing our own sick and dying?

I seek investors willing to invest in MalMed.

I ask for $50-100,000.

I also am seeking like-minded MD/JD's out there who would like to go into business together to help the many victims of wrongful death, medical malpractice, personal injury, and negligence.

With my medical expertise, I hope to be able to find many of these victims of the health care system. Even 20% of several settlements would allow me to pay back any investor here many times over. The start up costs would be minimal at around $50,000 for a strong E-commerce start up business with enough funding for national marketing. Once it gets going, it should be a multi-million dollar business in the very near future. Consider, one settlement of $1 million would amount t a gross profit of $200,000 at 20% of the settlement. ONE settlement. Now, what if there were 50 in one year? Small investment, huge potential. Any risk takers out there who can help fund my start-up? Again, there are potentially 251,454 cases per year for settlement.

I am the right person to trust with your investment. I am ambitious and hard working. I am responsible and finish what I start. With only a little success, your initial investment would be earned and would likely be returned many fold. Make me an offer! Let's give it our best effort!

I cannot guarantee that everyone will get a settlement. But we must fight back. The Monster has killed 251,454 in 2013. This is a crisis in silent demand. Most people don't even know there is not much help right now. The odds are stacked heavily against most medical malpractice lawyers. Can we get more justice?

The time is right. The system is strongly poised to "protect" the Giant.

It's a Monster we are up against....who is willing to take it on with me?
