I'm looking to start and run a video game streaming channel that doubles as a charity stream to conduct fundraising campaigns for charity.
My idea is to give back to society doing something I like best: playing video games.
The initial idea is elementary: establish a streaming channel on a popular platform such as Twitch, then with the initial funding, invest in several marketing methods to build a following.
I will then reach out to charity organizations to express my intent to support any fundraising efforts they require.
Once I receive requests, I will then hold charity streams at selected time and date.
After the initial funding, the channel shall be self-sustained with backers' support. The subscriptions will pay for any requirements to keep the channel running, and additional donations will either go to the channel's upkeep or charity based on donors' choice.
The donation target was calculated based on the initial requirement for an optimal streaming computer. I allocated around $500 to $1,000 for a full set, which includes a main unit and the most affordable peripherals as well as a microphone headset for viewer interaction. I put in an additional $500 for good measure, just in case, although I do have the idea to allocate that amount for animators, artists and/or graphic designer commissions.
